Glamping holidays, Woodbridge, Suffolk. UK

A wealth of Nature is all about us here at Oak Cottage. There are local woods and forests to explore on foot or by bike.  There is one of the most beautiful and diverse coastlines in the country and at its centre the Minsmere nature reserve with its wild landscapes and open skies, a bird lovers paradise.

There are some wonderful beaches to explore, to swim, walk or fly a kite. Pebbles at Aldeburgh, sand at Southwold and shingle at shingle beach! There are also wonderful river walks too, you can’t beat the salty, muddy sea air.

Managed by the excellent Suffolk Wildlife Trust, this is one of our favourite woods in the area. It has a light, airy, peaceful atmosphere with ancient trees, fallow deer and one of the greatest expanses of bluebells in the county.

Rendlesham Forest Centre is the main recreation area for the Sandlings Forests, Heaths and the connected Sandlings Walks stretching from Bixley near Ipswich all the way up to Southwold.

There are many events throughout the year which are listed on the website and there is play equipment and circular cycle and walking routes through the forest.

Famed for its music, Snape also has cafes, shops, galleries, beautiful nature walks (simply following the signposts) and river trips through the spring and summer. There is also a monthly farmers market.

With it's wild landscapes and open skies, the Centre has many special events and choice of circular nature walks and birdwatching hides. You may even see the semi-wild horses and red deer. Binocular hire is only £2.50 + deposit t: 01728 648281

This is a huge area of beautiful coastal heath land with well sign posted walks through the purple heather and along the cliff tops, with great views over the North Sea. There's also a long pebble beach, great for a walk to RSPB Minsmere Nature Reserve or to the village of Dunwich.

The Cafe at Dunwich Heath - A National Trust owned cafe serving hot foods and ice creams in the old coastguard cottages on the cliff above the beach.

Near Dunwich is RSPB Dingle Marshes.
