Father's Day and Ramsholt Arms ...

We've had a lovely Father's Day weekend, with a wonderful group of young families and older ones too. So great to see Dad's being so appreciated and all the young kids having a good time playing together.

We've had good feedback for the Ramsholt Arms. It's on one of the most beautiful spots of the River Deben with boats, has a small beach which is right next to the outdoor seating of the pub (so very easy to keep an eye on the kids playing, lovely walks and crabbing off the quay.

Felixstowe Book Festival 28 & 29 June ...

Read After the overwhelming success of it's launch last year, there's some superb poetry, non-fiction, fiction and writing events for those who love things literary - even a Suffragette-themed tea party for something different and much more... at the Felixstowe Book Festival.

The Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival

Described by Sheila Dillon, presenter of BBC Radio 4's The Food Programme "There isn't a better, more enjoyable, more educational, more beautiful food and drink festival in Britain"

Bonfire Night at the White Lion Ufford

Bonfire night, a couple of miles away at the White Lion, Ufford is a tradition with us. With it's excellent beer and wine (it's a free house and also has it's own micro-brewery), tasty hog roast and sausages etc, large bonfire and superb fireworks display - it's always enjoyable.

It's just the right size with a couple of hundred people. The evening always has a magical feel for us. Perhaps it's to do with celebrating fire and light going into the winter, but perhaps also to do with the place, being a field away from the Deben River, which is also a wonderful summer nature walk.
