Cycling

This is the perfect place for a cycling holiday, with Bredfield being on the National Route 1, which can link up with the on road National Cycle Network along the coast. This passes through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The quiet country lanes and off-road routes provide a delightful cycling experience (Suffolk Cycle maps are available from us on loan or to buy). Sailing

Much of the character of the area is influenced by the sea and rivers and there are boat trips taking place from Orford and Walberswick (please see Towns, Villages & Historic Sites section).

Boat trips
There are also delightful trips with ‘The Oystercatcher’ and ‘The Jahan’ from Waldringfield Boat Yard (from April to September t: 01473 736260) on the tranquil, wildlife rich River Deben to Ramsholt, Bawdsey Manor, Woodbridge and Sutton Hoo.

Kingfishers, otters and seals, plus a wide array of birdlife are usually seen along the river.

Dinghies and canoes
For those with their own sailing dinghies and canoes, there is a wealth of beautiful unspoilt estuaries and rivers.
